  1. In December 1996, my first and only son was born. We had a wonderful mother – son relationship; we spent our time going for walks, reading, watching nature shows, sports, and playing cards. Some favourite qualities of my son include: his kind and gentle spirit, quick wit and affectionate nature. We saw each other often and enjoyed our time together with friends and family. This was abruptly discontinued in December 2007 when my son’s aunt (his dad’s sister) was killed.
Over the past four years my family and I have made endless attempts to contact my son, to no avail. Whether it is through court, letters, phone calls, or email, we are met with no response –all correspondence and gifts returned. My son’s sisters and I are still exploring all our options to rectify this unhappy situation. The agony and heartache incurred since this alienation has been detrimental to us both. My family and I look forward to reunification, as it has been far too long.
It is well known that we all deal with events such as trauma and sudden death differently. Often after losing someone a person’s judgement and actions are not what they would be otherwise. These reactions, along with compromised thinking, based on irrational ideas cause a rippling affect within families and friends that cannot be undone.
The significant event that preceded my son being denied any further contact with his Mother: The day before my son’s birthday his dad’s sister was killed.
