We provide a weekly support group meeting, where individuals can come to, confidentially, share their experiences and receive information and peer support.

We provide a network for many individuals and their families who are facing experiences involving difficulties with Access and other Family Law related matters. They can turn for immediate help through our volunteers who would, for example, accompany parents with difficulties at Access times or when going to court, or facilitate outline preparations for legal documents when self-representing or supplying samples of admissable documents to their lawyers.

We research various kinds of information on Family Law matters, government Bills and court procedures. ECMAS has submitted many suggestions on these topics to various government committees and officials involving matters relevant to separation and divorce.

We host educational seminars and meetings that have previously involved officials from the Maintenance Enforcement Program (MEP), access enforcement stipulations, and many other agencies.

Family Conflict Resolution Services

Category: Service & Support

Family Conflict Resolution Services was established back in late 1996 with a purpose to help break the cycle of family destruction caused through our current adversarial family court system.

Our goal is to stop the conflict that is affecting so many children and their families through education and involvement of the community.

Through our network of paid and volunteer workers who assist children and their families, we are working on making a difference in the lives of the children and families we work with.

Since 1996 we have been working on our program called “The Family Assistance and Parent Support Program”. We feel that the program we have developed is one of the the most advanced programs of its kind anywhere in the world. It was developed to help put an end to high conflict separations and divorces. Based on the input from the community as well as countless legal and health care professionals, our program has established standards for the best interests of the children and sets down what rights children of separation and divorce should have. Our program offers the standards for the objective analysis needed to best ensure that children are being protected.

Family of Men Support Society

Category: Support & Crisis & Advocacy

For more than 10 years the Family of Men has operated a telephone crisis line.

The daily averages of callers are 2 per day.

Of the 1200 callers per year (2001) 22% are from women. Of the 22% women callers approximately 25% are from mothers whose sons are in a violent domestic situation and they are concerned not only for their son’s safety but also the safety of their grandchildren. An additional 25% are from, what I call the 2nd wives club, women who are married to a man with a vindictive 1st wife and their life is in total distress due to the situation. The remaining 50% consists of sisters, girlfriends and female friends who are concerned for a male in their life.

Fathers Canada – BC Fathers

Category: Advocacy & Communications & Networking

Welcome to BC Fathers.

According to the federal government of Canada, this is the website of misogynists, masculinists, women haters, and advocates of extreme violence against women. They also said this website is an example of using the internet the same way as pornographers and pedophiles.

Is what they published true? Not according to the British Columbia Supreme Court…  Judge Nathan Smith dropped a major bomb in his BC Supreme Court judgment. Essentially, he says their so-called research is a pack of lies, none of it true, merely opinion and political propaganda…. and then gave them the “nazi newsletter” defense of “fair comment”. In other words, Government of Canada ‘research’ is lies and unsubstantiated opinions of radical ideologues. We can only wonder how much “government research” is similar political propaganda. Perhaps a Parliamentary Inquiry will give us the answer!

Fathers 4 Justice -Quebec (F4J-QC)

Category: Activism & Support

MISSION 2010

Defending and promoting the traditional family remains at the heart of our commitment. In order for humanity to survive we must continue nurturing the traditional family, which consists of “Father, mother and children”, the most widespread and traditional model on the planet.

Our goal is to rectify the unjust treatment that fathers face from the justice system when they find themselves undergoing a separation and the negative consequences that affects themselves and society before, during and after such an event.

We believe that the first step has been successful; the public has been made aware of the problem. Everyone knows that men are very badly treated in “family courts”.

With this in mind, we have undertaken the task to raise awareness of this topic by use of the internet. We are also using our web site to offer services to others who would like to communicate with people in their individual region to form support groups.

Our expertise in the fight for father’s right is our principal goal and we are going to set up a program to assist fathers in difficulty, and to coach fathers in judicial proceedings.

Our immediate goal is to promote “joint custody” among responsible parents

Military Families for Equal Parenting (MFEP)

Category: Advocacy & Support

MFEP is a group of serving and retired Canadian Forces members who have been or are going through the meanders of the family court system. Not all of us, but a majority have been humiliated, dragged into poverty, and most importantly have been stripped of their children after a separation.

MFEP has two objectives: 1. Help and support each other in the military community through our ordeal; 2. Help the Canadian Equal Parenting Council (CEPC) and Member of Parliament Maurice Vellacott to change The Divorce Act such as to establish new legislation in which there will be a presumption of shared parenting after separation.

In MFEP, we believe that we divorce the other partner, and not the children. We also believe that seeing your children 4 days a month has nothing to do with being a parent.

Being in the military makes it even more damaging for the children due to our sporadic deployments.

Not All Dads Are Deadbeats (NADAD)

Category: Advocacy & Education & Support & Networking

We believe that: Equal Parenting is indisputably proven to be in the best interest of our children except in proven cases of abuse or neglect; The current adversarial and gender bias nature of our Family Courts and associated agencies act counter to the best interests of our children. There is a better way to eliminate or reduce the financial and emotional strain on families involved in relationship breakdown; Individuals involved should have timely, thoughtful and meaningful support and access to resources to assist throughout the process. We Value: Freedom and unbiased treatment of all people; True gender equality; Every individual’s right to life, liberty and security of person.

We will accomplish this by: Ensuring that “Shared Parenting” is entrenched in Family Law through active political lobby efforts; Informing and educating the public on the destructive and counter-productive nature of our Family Court System; Working to develop alternatives for parents who want to ensure “Shared Parenting” is the default position should the relationship fail; Advocating for and supporting those individuals harmed/mistreated by our Family Court System; Working in conjunction with other organizations and individuals that hold similar core values and beliefs.

We offer a group atmosphere or one on one counselling to help men navigate through difficult times. Concentrating on safe, healthy, understanding, communication to maneuver themselves and their family under demanding situations is how we can help.

It is to this end that we offer a variety of services designed to help men cope with family breakdown, parenting, non-custodial parent issues and co-parenting from a male perspective

We know how important Dad is in children’s lives. We understand that children need to maintain a healthy, nurturing relationship with both parents, free from the storm of their parent’s relationship breakdown if that happens.
